【摘要】:ThisDraftforDevelopmentgivesrecommendationsandguidanceontheconstructionanduseofbuildingstomaximizefiresafetyincludingtheprovisionoffireprecautionsandmeansofeacape.Itisapplicabletonewbuildingsandalsotoexistingbuildings,especiallywhenalterationstothestructureofanexistingbuildingortoitsusearebeingcinsidered,andcoverstheentirelifecycleofabuilding.TherecommendationsandguidancefiveninthisDraftforDevelopmentaretosafeguardthelivesofbuildingoccupantsandfire-fighters.However,someoftherecommendationsandguidancearealsoofrelevancetotheprotectionofproperty,theenvironmentandbusiness/serviceviability.ThisDraftforDevelopmentdoesnotcoverfiresafetyengineering.
